User Review:
- Old Jewish Cementery was founded in 1478 and for over 300 years, the only burial ground permitted to Jews.Because of lack of space people had to be buried on top of each other,u to 12 layers deep.Today you can see over 12 000 gravestones crammed into tiny spaces, but an estimated 100 000 people are thoughted to have been buried here. The last burial was in 1787.Most visited grave is of Rabbi Low/Pragues MaHaRal,tombstones of Mordechai Maisel,Rabbi Avigdor Kara and Rabbi David Oppenheim.
