Description:
- Whereas Halloween in many countries is celebrated at the end of October, the witching hour for the Czech people is April 30. The festival, which dates back centuries, is a kind of mix between Halloween and May Day and marks the beginning of spring. All over the country, effigies of hags or witches are burnt on pyres and the brave ones try to jump over the flames. In Prague, the best place to see this spectacle is Petrin Hill.
