After you spend your first day in Prague basking in the beauty of Old Town and Josefov, head to Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí). This is by no means the most beautiful part of Prague and is often packed with tourists but don’t be fooled. Not only is this area chock full of history but some of the city’s most stylish spots live in and around this chaotic square. It only makes sense- you’re right in the center of the action. Start with dinner at the bold COMO. Here, you can enjoy delectable Mediterranean dishes, luscious cocktails, and live music without worrying that you’ll be rushed out before you’re ready. However tempting it may be, though, don’t linger in COMO all night. Finish off your evening at the nearby SWANK Martini Bar, where you can sip one of hundreds of Martinis along with Prague’s hip fashion crowd.

Maybe you explored the Castle area today or maybe you had a Thai massage. Either way, I hope you have the energy for a big night out (the latter might work more to your advantage in this case…). Start with dinner at Universal. While its popularity has waned slightly in the past few years, due in part, I suspect, to the recent upsurge in modern, trendy spots, Universal still maintains the air of a "place-to-be." Although it’s Cuban-owned and run, don’t expect authentic Cuban cuisine (as a Miami-born-and-raised-Cuban, I feel confident making this possibly controversial statement. I’d guess it’s got more of an Argentinean flair). Do, however, expect a very elegant restaurant, bar, and smoking room that has had the time to really settle into its role. So experience some old-school style with succulent food from somewhere south-of-the-border, a Cuba Libre made with Havana Club rum that’s actually made in Cuba (not the Puerto-Rican version you find in the U.S.), and a Romeo y Julieta. After dinner, keep it classic by heading to Bugsy’s Bar. With its 1950s American theme and bowtied waiters, we’re talking a timeless cocktail lounge. Bugsy’s is the perfect place to unwind in good company.
