Description:

  • This house, one of South Africa's national monuments, is where the Peace Treaty which terminated the Anglo-Boer War was signed in 1902. The name derives from the famous Melrose Abbey in Scotland. The house is a superb example of Victorian and Edwardian architectural style and decoration, and includes a clay tennis court, tea garden, reference library and a collectibles shop.
