The Best of NileGuide
- If you need a hotel for visiting the majestic Iguazu Falls, there are certainly plenty to choose from in or near the Argentine resort of Puerto Iguazu - and don't forget there are more on the Brazilian side too. Our top pick for a hotel located on the Argentine side is the Aldea de la Selva, for its great central location, its ecological credentials, the great restaurant and the fabulous "selva" or jungle its timber cabins are sprinkled among. Our second choice has to go to the wonderful Yacutinga Lodge - another green-friendly place - though it must be admitted that it is quite a trek from the Falls themselves. In town the Hotel Saint George comes up trumps in the middle range - with well appointed rooms and a pleasant swimming pool. The Iguazu Grand Resort - our ninth pick - comes with a casino and a huge pool complex, though the service is sluggish. The Sheraton - number ten for us - has the best location, right in the park itself, overlooking the Cataratas - but its bunker-like architecture and the fact it is so visible from the falls is a negative mark against it.
