  • The Best of NileGuide
  • It has to be said that most people tend to eat in the restaurant of their hotel while staying in Iguazu - for three main reasons: they are usually the best place to eat, people are tired after a long day at the Falls and distances are big while public transport is lacking. Even so there are some good restaurants in Puerto Iguazu, with our top pick leading the way. Friendly waiters and a good wine list are just two of the pluses at the traditional La Rueda, where you can sample the delicious fish caught in the nearby rivers. Surubi, pacu and boga are just three of the monsters that swim in the tropical waters of the northeast and all are delicious, whether simply grilled or served with a carefully prepared sauce. Similar fare, along with some excellent parrillas (BBQs) are on offer at another classic, our unhesitating second choice, El Quincho del Tio Querido, whose name literally means Our Favorite Uncle's Barbecue Grill. If Italian fare takes your fancy, then Il Fratello has all the spaghetti and lasagne you could wish for - it comes in at our number eight pick. Don't forget that there are plenty of Brazilian restaurants to choose from across the border in Foz do Iguacu!
