En route to Dorado from San Juan, stop by this down-to-earth restaurant with a great ocean view. It's the first restaurant on the main road into Isla de Cabras. This unpretentious place serves great seafood and Puerto Rican cuisine. On nice days you can eat on a wooden deck with the waves crashing against the rocks below. There are about 50 different items -- plenty of seafood, steaks, and Puerto Rican food -- on the menu. You can't go wrong with the mofongo stuffed with stewed conch or shrimp, or the mixed seafood Puerto Rican stew, asopao. There's also a delicious surf and turf, with a filet mignon and lobster tail. We loved the red snapper Creole style, which is in a light, sweet tomato sauce. There are plenty of non-seafood dishes, a mix of Puerto Rican and American fare. The house sangria is tasty and has a kick.
