Nowhere is the action hotter than on the Puerto Vallarta Malecon. This seaside boardwalk draws in visitors with its picturesque view of the Bay of Banderas and it's charming selection of unique sculptures. It's also home to many street performers and vendors, keeping it busy all day and into the night.
The other side of the main drag is lined with shops, restaurants and of course, bars and clubs. Hilo is a popular favorite and won't be missed thanks to the towering sculpture of a very angry female along one wall. If the gorilla on the sidewalk doesn't drag you into The Zoo, you might want to stop in yourself and check out this dance hot spot. Carlos O'Brien's is typically packed with young people doing body shots and dancing to the latest music.
If you're looking for something a little more sedate, you can pop into the Cheeky Monkey, a second and third floor bar that offers a nice view of the sunset and some very affordable booze and foods. La Paloma offers live traditional music like Mariachi or you can salsa the night away at Cuban favorite La Bodeguita del Medio.
