- Puerto Vallarta's musical attractions range from colorful and lively performers bouncing from one city bus to another to vocalists crooning jazz standards into the microphone at the local lounge. Route 66 (formerly Club Roxy) has an energetic house band to keep you dancing through the night to reggae, blues and classic rock. There are also guest musicians and other live performers. Garbo Piano Bar Garbo is a favorite with locals and tourists, a lovely piano bar frequented by the LGBT crowd but not exclusively a gay venue. It has recorded music, mainly jazz, on many nights but on weekends there are live performances. Located at the Krystal Vallarta Resort, Christine Discotheque is very popular. It features play modern dance music complete with a laser show, fog machine and huge video displays. After a warm day at the beach, turn up the heat and head out to one of Puerto Vallarta's many lively nightclubs.
