Bahía de Banderas - Puerto Vallarta
  • Type: Outdoor Recreation
  • NileGuide Expert Says:

    Spectacular diving, fishing and recreation.

  • Description:

    • The Banderas Bay (Bay of Flags) is a horseshoe shaped bay that covers two states, Jalisco and Nayarit. It is Mexico's largest bay and one of the world's deepest, offering world-class scuba diving and sportfishing. In the winter months, the Humpback Whales come to mate and give birth. It's also home to several types of sea turtles and dolphins.

There are miles of gold and white sand beaches to enjoy as well as surfing, sailing, scuba, snorkeling, fishing, jet skis and anything else you can think of that takes place on the water. You can even parasail over it. The ecological preserve of Los Arcos is in the bay and advanced divers can travel down for a spectacular wall dive at the Devil's Canyon, dropping more than 550 meters.
