Feria del Elote - Puerto Vallarta

  • Description:

    • Some of the most interesting events that happen in Mexico are the festivals celebrated in small towns. The Festival of Corn, which happens in a small town called Xalisco on the highway from Puerto Vallarta to Tepic, celebrates the harvest season of corn. The event includes processions, mechanical bulls, fireworks, jaripeos, cock fights, popular fiestas, horse races, sporting and music events, as well as many other cultural festivities. The festival starts on the second weekend of August and lasts for a week. On the first day of the event, the harvest queen is elected and she presides over all the celebrations.
