From 4/17 - 4/24, and Easter the very next week (4/24 - 4/31).
Thursday 21 thru Sunday 24 are the most important days of the Holy Week.

pascal is right. And after living here 16 years, Semana Santa is a most celebrated holiday of the coast. The Mexican people seem to have a tradition of going to their coast. These tourists go to the beach with family. It is a vibrant time for Vallarta. The restaurants are not full, but the beach is. So many people from Guadalajara will go to the beach will all the kids, cousins and Grandma with the dog. The head to the beach with coolers full of food and drink. They burn easy because they are
so fair. Hotels are full but I always see those relatives coming with thei tents.
