Restaurant Paris Brest

Description:

• Named for a French dessert (an almond-topped pastry filled with butter cream), this is one of the best restaurants outside the walls, tendering a polished performance from greeting to check. It draws a fashionable crowd wearing everything from bespoke suits to designer jeans. The menu doesn't change much, so pay attention to the daily specials, which are more likely to demonstrate the kitchen's creativity. Wapiti with raspberry sauce and spiced pear was a recent highlight, as was roasted salmon with tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. The restaurant is an easy stroll from the St-Louis gate of the Old City walls.
