Violons du Roy (Les)

Description:

  • One of Canada's best-known classical music organizations, this 11-person string ensemble prides itself on an innovative and contemporary approach to chamber music. Named after Louis XIV's personal orchestra, the group was founded in 1984 under the direction of Bernard Labadie. Recent programs have included performances of Handel's Opus 3 at the Palais Montcalm, and improvisational pianist Robert Levin the Grand Théâtre. Tickets are usually in the CAD25-30 range.
