Description:
This cafe is part of the noted Prince Edward Island Preserve Co., itself a worthwhile stop for the delicious homemade preserves. Light meals are served in the bright and modern dining room just off the preserve showroom; in this popular and often crowded spot, you can order from a menu that has expanded to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A smoked-fish platter or the lobster chowder are just the ticket on a drizzly afternoon, and they've also got pastas, crepes, sandwiches and wraps, island fish cakes, lobster rolls, and even a cheesy potato pie with maple cream. There's beer and wine, a kids' menu, and pies, cakes, and cheesecakes, making this a legitimate dining destination in a rural area with few restaurants besides the Olde Mill. Just be prepared for the tour bus crowd: Buses get their own parking lot here, close to the door.
