"Walk through Times Square Eat on Restaurant Row (on 46th between 8th and 9th Ave) Go to Museum of Modern Art or just stroll around Midtown checking out the shops and St Patricks Cathedral."  See More

"My favorite almost-free thing to do in NYC is catch an open rehearsal with the New York Philharmonic. For about $20 you can get a ticket that might usually cost upwards of $100. I've seen everyone from Andre Previn to Yo-Yo Ma there. Carnegie Hall also often offers last-minute tickets so check them out as well. The The Museum at FIT is always free and has great exhibits. The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is often free (last time I was there they let me in for free because it was so cold--go figure) and is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen no matter what season. New York Public Library - I get that this sounds like a snooze fest but I can promise you, it ain't. This place has amazing talks and exhibits but aside from that the building itself is just incredible. Do NOT miss going up to the reading room. They still have the original pneumatic tube system. Check out the WPA Murals all over town. You can find a lot of them in the city's post offices, but here's a link to a site that will tell you where they are: ."  See More

"You are at an odd location - Tiffany & Co, St Patricks Cathedral, Saks Fifth Avenue."  See More

"Walking and people watching -- one of my old favorite haunts, where I would meet friends was on the steps to St Patricks Cathedral."  See More

"See if this appeals to you: • Have a very quick look at Times Square(there’s almost nothing to really see here unless you’re really into Disney) • Have lunch at one of the restaurants on Restaurant Row (Le Rivage is excellent) • Walk over to Rockefeller Center and see that • St. Patricks Cathedral • Head over to Radio City Music Hall and take their tour (even though it’s touristy it’s fantastic) • Take cab downtown to ABC Carpet and have dinner at ABC Kitchen or take cab downtown to Meatpacking district and have dinner (even if you just eat someplace moderate like Fig & Olive Restaurant it’s a much more interesting, less touristy area than South Street Seaport) • Take an after-dinner stroll through either area or jump in a cab and go to Chelsea Market Baskets for dessert."  See More
