Kid-friendly Things to Do in Queenstown

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • While Queenstown may, at first, seem like a playground for adults with all the adrenaline pumping jumping out of planes and off bridges, you may be surprised to find that there are many activities for the whole family. Kids can even do things like bungy jumping and quad biking, but just check ahead for age limits. Usually there is something available for children over five although sometimes the rule is that they must be accompanied by an adult. For uber-craziness, look at things like A J Hacket's bungy jumping options and the jet boats on the Shotover River or go out to the Adventure Park and let your kids ride on a quad bike or the "School Bully" Monster Truck. To let your kids run amok, have a look at driving up to Wanaka for Puzzling World, where things are just not what they seem. There are activities to keep the entire family entertained there. For outdoor options, you can take a boat ride to a farm park and become overtaken by the cute fuzziness of lambs or go out to the Otago Rail trail and get on a bike or your feet) for a walk along this great trail. It's all flat, so everyone can do it. You can go for a day's walk or walk all the way to Dunedin if you are brave. The Gondola is relaxing fun for everyone and lets you get a great view of beautiful Queenstown.
