The Dann Carlton is understated and elegant and bills itself as a boutique hotel because it offers all the charm and personal service that you'd find at a small hotel. The accommodations are spacious and come with dark-wood furnishings, built-in closets, and subtle green, earthy tones. The marble bathrooms are sparkling. Rooms at the back of the hotel, especially those on the higher floors, have sumptuous views of the city, El Panecillo, Parque La Carolina, and the volcanoes. The location is a tiny bit out of the way, but the neighborhood is quiet and safe, and the huge Parque La Carolina is just outside the door. These folks offer free airport pickup and drop-off, too.
