San Marino (Arbiana Hotel)

Description:

  • San Marino may be the most romantic restaurant on Rab. On nice evenings diners sit at candlelit tables under trees in the park adjacent to the Arbiana with soft music and the sea as background noise. The restaurant's indoor space is also nicely appointed, but it is San Marino's menu that attracts diners. Start with beef and chicken minestrone accessorized with julienned crepes and move on to Kvarner risotto infused with scampi and garnished with zucchini. For dessert, the menu lists the usual Croatian suspects -- pala cinke, flan, ice cream -- and the choices are a letdown after the chef's creative cuisine. Both the restaurant and the hotel are smoke-free, unusual in Croatia.
