Muri Beachcomber

Description:

• This friendly motel sits right on Muri Beach, a short walk from the Pacific Resort, Sails Restaurant & Bar, and the Flame Tree restaurant. Ten of the one-bedroom, full-kitchen units are in five duplex buildings built of brown timber, with peaked roofs that evoke the tropics. They form two courtyards, each opening to the beach. These spacious units have French doors leading from both living rooms and bedrooms to covered verandas. Children under 12 are allowed only in the larger family units, which stand away from the beach but next to the pool, making it easy for parents to keep an eye on the kids from their shady verandas. The largest of these is a two-bedroom unit atop the motel's office. The deluxe Watergarden Villas have stucco exteriors and huge wraparound verandas that make them look like coral-block colonial houses. Although they are behind and across a lily pond from the beachside units, they are more private and have phones, TVs, and DVD players.
