It's a favorite Reno bargain consisting of a charbroiled half-pound burger atop a mound of seasoned fries for $6.95. The restaurant is always crowded with counter-style seating. The hassle of parking downtown and sitting elbow-to-elbow with the other hungry patrons is quickly forgotten when your food arrives. You can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time of the day or night. The restaurant accepts cash only.

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • There are dozens of restaurants around the Reno area (including within the casinos) that are fun...and serve delicious food. Many of these restaurants are within the downtown area and one is in Carson City.

Starting with the farthest away from Reno, Red's Old 395 Grill in Carson City is the epitome of fun. The decor is crazy western and the food is served on huge plates. Try the "Q for Two" BBQ platter. Back in downtown Reno you can visit the very popular Little Nugget Diner for the notorious Awful Awful Burger or go up to the Wolf Den near the University of Nevada for another Awful Awful and some televised sports events. While you are near the University, hit the Little Waldorf Saloon (the Wal) for some after game drinks and food. Also in downtown is the River Room, with its classic Reno decor or Silver Peak which serves great beer, burgers, salads and fish and chips. Just down the street on 4th is the Gold-n-Silver, which was featured in the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives show.

If you want to stick to the casinos, go to Romanza at the Peppermill for some great Italian and a lively atmosphere, or have a huge buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner at Toucan Charlie's at the Atlantis. If you want a nice view and a vibrant crowd (and you love sushi) head up to Skyline Blvd. and Hiroba Sushi. This place is hopping almost every night.
