This is where the locals go for a huge breakfast that will last you way into the evening. Peg's is a popular coffee and breakfast spot that is well know for its huge portions, excellent staff and fun selection various items including stacks of pancakes, skillet meals and Latin inspired dishes.

Favorite menu items include the Huevos Ranchero served in a skillet with fresh salsa, beans, hash browns and fruit or the Mexicali Omelette with guacamole and salsa. For something lighter you can order the huge portion of Lox, Bagel and Cream Cheese or a Veggie Benedict. Their classes Eggs Benedict is excellent as well as the their French Toast and Pancakes.

Prices are higher than your average coffee shop, but you won't have to eat again for the rest of the day. The average price for breakfast will run you about $10 to $12 per person. The weekend breakfasts can be very busy, especially during the summer and the holidays.

This family-friendly place is home to fluffy omelets, tasty home fries, and crisp bacon. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of the food and excellent service. The decor is homey, clean and uncluttered, with lots of windows for people watchers. Dine outside when the weather is agreeable. Coffee, juice, tea, milk and soda are your drink choices; no alcohol is served here.

The hub coffee shop is cute and quaint with a bicycle theme. They encourage riders to visit and even have a special wall in their garden area where you can hang your bike. They offer free trade and single source coffee and tea as well as baked goods in the morning.

The quaint little stone house is part of the appeal of this popular restaurant. Located in the old Southwest part of Reno, the Stone House features meals ranging in price from $5-$40. They serve sandwiches, burgers, soups, steak, fish and desserts. Live music is offered on Friday nights during the summer.

This bakery not only bakes up excellent Viennese cakes, cookies, buns and bread, but they also offer great breakfasts, sandwiches, soups, salads and coffee. The breakfasts contain items like Eggs Benedict and French Crepes and their lunches items like Curried Chicken Salad and Viennese Goulash.

The Little (Golden) Nugget in downtown Reno, right near the Reno Arch should not be confused with the much larger Nugget Casino in downtown Sparks, the city next to Reno. This little place really only houses a bar, a few slot machines and a diner in the back. However, this diner has become very well known for its great prices, large portions and the oh so wonderful Awful Awful Burger. It's named because it is awfully big and awfully good. The burger and its basket of fries cost around $7, but it is a huge portion that you might have to share. The half-pound burger is juicy and flavorful and is topped with cheese, huge slabs of onion, tomato and lettuce and served on an excellent soft onion burger bun. This burger won the Food Network's Food Wars contest between the Sparks Nugget.

The diner also serves up other good food including calamari sandwiches, bacon and eggs and a huge stack of pancakes that are great at 2 a.m. after a night on the town.

The diner is a little dated and dingy, but for diner lovers, this is a great place to hang out a the bar and meet some interesting characters.

Located in a back road near the Renown Medical Center, Dish looks like an unlikely place to get excellent breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and soup. But that's what you get at this charming and funky little cafe decorated with aprons, teapots and other kitchen gear. The best part of the cafe though are the freshly baked cakes, muffins and cupcakes.

It is run by a local family and they serve breakfast, coffee and tea, lunch and some weekend dinners. You can also pick up some fresh eggs, locally grown vegetables, and drop off and pick up mail. They offer outdoor seating with a great view of the mountains.

Wake up and smell the coffee at Mimi's Cafe along with some yummy eats too. Breaded chicken tender, fried calamari, chicken quesadillas, turkey ciabatta, pot roast sandwich, broiled salmon, chicken tostada salad, and more await patrons. And while you're at it, check the wine list. A decent selection of reds and whites feature on the menu. The family-friendly atmosphere assures a constant buzz, but no one's complaining.
