• If you end up spending the night in Retalhuleu, this should be your first choice. The two-story downtown hotel is built around a relaxing central courtyard and pool. The rooms are well kept and comfortable, although the decor and furnishings are dated. Some rooms come with a small balcony overlooking the street, which may be a plus or minus, depending upon whether you're more interested in local character or peace and quiet. There are a handful of suites, which come with separate sitting areas. The restaurant here is one of the best and most dependable in town.
