Description:

  • Pleasantly perched above Laugavegur, this casual, cafeteria-style eatery is a long-running vegetarian standby. Ordering is simple: You point, they scoop, and all dishes and combo plates come with unlimited hummus, date chutney, and yeast- and sugar-free bread. Most ingredients are organic, and about half the dishes are vegan. The most consistent offerings are vegetable gratin with soy cheese; lasagna with spinach, basil, cottage cheese, and whole wheat; Thai curry; and chickpeas with peanuts and pineapple sauce. The dishes can be a bit gloppy and oddly indistinct from each other, but it's hearty comfort food all the same. Try an organic beer or the impressive sugar-free banana cake.
