Description:
This drab little shack facing a parking lot near the harbor is nothing short of a national landmark: Since 1935 it has served the country's best hot dog in the world's best hot-dog country. Any other business would add a second employee and sell T-shirts, but the only change in recent times is the addition of a framed photo of Bill Clinton, posing with the proprietor and holding a hot dog. (He ordered it with mustard only, which isn't advised, but if that's what you want, ask for a "Clinton.") Seating is limited to one outdoor picnic table. Britain's Guardian, voting this place "Best Hot-Dog Stand in Europe," credited the rémoulade sauce, but locals believe it's the secret cooking fluid (most think beer is involved).
