Nothing splashy here, not a place to be seen, just great coffee and good prices at the oldest cafe in town (since 1958). The interior is a bit dark, cramped, and worn, but it might appeal to you for those reasons. You may wonder why your book or conversation is so absorbing, and then realize no music is playing, the enlightened house policy. The small menu is most famous for its fabulous waffles with jam and whipped cream, but the panini are excellent, too.
