Description:

  • Run by three local fisherman and crammed inside a small warehouse by the old harbor, "The Sea Baron" has the city's best seafood value and its best ramshackle ambience. You order at the counter, then sit on a fish-packing container until the food arrives in a foam container with plastic utensils. Many tourists sample whale here, as suggested by the restaurant's hilariously shameless logo, "Moby Dick on a Stick." Cod, scallops, and seasonal fish and seabirds also appear in kabob form, but the restaurant's most famous concoction is the humarsupa (lobster soup): a little sweet and creamy, with suggestions of celery, red pepper, tomato, cinnamon, clove, and coriander -- and a decent portion of lobster.
