• Several locals recommended this family-operated taverna, which cooks up fine traditional Greek fare at bargain prices. You won't find better authentic Greek home cooking than this anywhere in Rhodes, especially at lunch. Sitting under the spreading walnut tree in the vine-shaded courtyard, we enjoyed the splendid papoutsaki, braised eggplant slices layered with chopped meat and a thick, cheesy béchamel sauce, delicately flavored with nutmeg and coriander.
