Description:
- The Marecchia Park is also known as the Parco XXV Aprile. It is around 235,000 square meters and is the biggest park in Rimini. The park stretches from the Ponte di Tiberio up to the crossroads between Via Marecchiese and Via Nuova Circonvallazione. You can see the parks full extent by looking north from the bridge. The park can be entered on both sides. There are entrances at all the crossings on Via Dario Campana on the west side and on Via XXIII Settembre on the east (up to the Marecchia bypass bridge). The park's name comes from the river Marecci which runs alongside the Ausa river for a long stretch. There is a large children's play area inside the park as well as a football pitch for the "Delfini", tennis courts and a running training track which can be used by everyone. The park is also used as a training ground by the Rimini frisbee team and by all the town's joggers. There are some attractive fairs which take place in the park including the Festa dei Giovani (Youth Festival) on May 1 each year. There is also the Focheraccia on the evening of March 17 each year to celebrate the feast day of St Joseph.
