• Botafogo is home to some of Rio de Janeiro's most interesting nightlife options, and Cinematheque is one of the most innovative of the bunch. DJs play an eclectic mix that varies nightly - expect to hear anything from 70s tropicalia and pyschedelia to modern hip hop and electro - and there are regular live music events too.
  

  Movie images are projected onto a giant video screen above the dance floor, meaning that any wallflowers present will have plenty to keep their eyes occupied. There's a pleasant patio for early drinks (and for smokers) and a good range of cocktails, too. The Brandy Alexander is yum.
