- Hip-hop comes second to "baile funk" music in Rio, but Febarj is one of the few places in the city where the musical menu is all about it. This spot in the heart of the party district of Lapa is a combined nightclub and cultural center, and there are regular live music and dance performances. On Friday and Saturday nights, crowds of hip-hop loving locals pack the dancefloors at this three-story building, and with such a low entrance fee, it's not hard to see why Febarj is so popular. Drinks are inexpensive too, or you can just grab a cocktail from one of the many street stalls outside the venue. - Lucy Bryson
