  • Think fine food, think Rio de Janeiro French Restaurants. Some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the city, including our number one pick, Olympe, and number two pick (they could arguably both be number one...) both real standout Rio restaurants.

While the top-flight French restaurants in Rio may stretch the travel budget, fans of French cuisine can enjoy fairly-priced, truly delicious dishes at 66 Bistro, where the kitchen is headed up by Thomas Troisgros, son of Olympe's Claude Troisgros and part of the multi-Michelin starred French culinary family.

There is also ample opportunity to enjoy French pastries and other French delicacies in Rio de Janeiro, with Traiteurs de France being an excellent case in point.
For French food with a contemporary feel, head to the chic Oui Oui, in Botafogo, or Santa Teresa's Aprazivel, where French dishes have been given a Brazilian twist.
