Hotels near Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro can sometimes be a little seedy, as the legendary stadium is located in the city's rather run-down north zone, far from the majority of Rio de Janeiro's tourist attractions.
As such, most tourists in Rio de Janeiro would be wise to make their base in and around Centro, which is relatively close to Maracana Stadium, and easily reached by Metro.
Two decent mid-range hotels not too far from Maracana stadium are Arcos Rio and OK Hotel, both in Centro.
Maracana Stadium, Rio de Janeiro lies just a couple of miles from Centro, Santa Teresa, Flamengo and Gloria, while the Leme end of Copacabana beach is also within relatively easy reach, and is served by the Metro.
