Smart, sophisticated and exclusive, Leblon is a world away from the crush of high rise hotels that can be found in Copacabana. Hotels in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro tend to be pricey, but travelers on a healthy budget will appreciate the opportunity to make their base close to the beach and to the many smart restaurants and bars of this chic neighborhood.
Our number one pick, Marina All Suites, is both sophisticated and a little kooky, and is a firm favorite with Brazilian supermodel Gisele. At the other end of the price spectrum, Lemon Spirit Hostel is a great backpacker option, and provides an opportunity to bunk down in the city's most desirable neighborhood without blowing the travel budget.
Apartments and apart-hotels in Leblon are also well worth considering and, while not the cheapest in the city, there are some very smart options here including Mercure Apartments Leblon and Rio Flat Service.
Finally, while it's not quite in Leblon (the name is a bit of a giveaway), Praia Ipanema is just a couple of minutes' walk down the beach from the neighborhood, and is a good mid-range option.
