The glorious scenery, steamy weather and sultry samba moves make Rio de Janeiro a perfect city for lovers, and there are no end of romantic restaurants in Rio.
Whether you're planning a special night with a long-term love or have been lucky enough to score a date with a beautiful Brazilian, the romantic restaurants of Rio de Janeiro will be sure to get those sparks flying.
While there are some excellent restaurants to be found in Ipanema and Copacabana, our number one romantic restaurant pick, Aprazivel, is found far from the beaches, up in the hills of Santa Teresa. Head here on a clear night and you can enjoy al-fresco dining and wonderful views over Centro and Guanabara Bay.
While many of Rio's most romantic restaurants come with a high price tag, such as the excellent Fasano Al Mar and Olympe, there are some good mid-range options for love-struck couples too. Espirito Santa, another Santa Teresa restaurant, is a good case in point, with its candlelit terrace and tropical fruit cocktails.
