Description:

  • Casa 579 is a stylish boutique guesthouse located in Santa Teresa, the famous art and cultural district of Rio de Janeiro. With an amazing roof terrace with 180 degree views of the Cristo Redentor, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay and excellent facilities, Casa 579 not only offers the best view in Rio, but the perfect place to stay to avoid the souless high rise hotels of Copacabana and Ipanema and experience the "real" Rio. Lapa, famous for its Samba clubs and home to Rio's nightlife and the downtown business district are a 10 minute bus, taxi or tram ride away and the famous sights of Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain and the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema are just 15 minutes away. Transport stops right outside the house to take you to all the places you need to go (bus, tram or kombi). The house has been the site of fashion shoots and TV documentaries thanks to the stunning views (as you will see when you see the Cristo, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Guanabara Bay from our panoramic roof terrace). The house also has a relaxing and comfortable lounge area, and a great choice of accommodation from spacious private rooms through to our deluxe shared room. We are also are very privileged to have some interesting residents in our grounds…a family of monkeys and a toucan often pop by, see if you can spot them in the trees from the breakfast area!
