This place is worth the money for the rooftop pool alone, which has some of the most magnificent beach views in Rio. The area around the hotel is lively but not great for families as there are many prostitutes around after dark.

- Towering above the many hotels and apartment complexes that line Avenida Atlantica, Rio Othon Palace has terrific views over the beach and out to sea. A chain hotel, the décor is a little past its prime, but the rooftop pool and bar offer some of the best views to be found anywhere along the beach front. Take care in the area around the hotel at night, as it becomes something of a red light area after dark.
