Description:

  • Chilean artist Selaron has acheived a legendary status in Rio thanks to his dramatically colourful conversion of the once-drab Lapa Steps (Escadaria Selaron), and his distinctive paintings are much coveted by tourists. Here, at his outdoor 'workshop', visitors can see the artist at work, and maybe even pick up an authentic Selaron masterpiece. Prices are quite affordable for small painted tiles, getting steeper with increased size and intricacy.
