- If you have a head for heights (and a decent travel budget), there's no better way to take in Rio's awe-inspiring cityscape than via a tandem hangliding flight. There are several good operators in the city, including JustFly, which has an excellent reputation and very experienced English-speaking instructors. Most tandem hangliding flights take off from Pedra da Gavea, soaring high over the city before making a soft landing on the sands of Sao Conrado beach. The flights can cost well over R$250, but the view is uncomparable.
