• This fine regional museum focusing on 19th-and 20th-century American art and decorative arts, including works by artists from throughout the South, will get even better in the fall of 2008 when it opens a magnificent gallery building on Salem Avenue at Williamson Road. Even if it hasn't opened when you visit, you can't help but admire the new building's steel-and-zinc roofline, which evokes its Blue Ridge Mountains backdrop.
