Château de Rochegude

Description:

• This Relais & Châteaux member stands on 10 hectares (25 acres) of parkland. The castle is at the edge of a hill, surrounded by vineyards. The 12th-century turreted residence has been renovated by a series of distinguished owners, ranging from a pope to a dauphin. Each room is done in Provençal style, with fabrics and furniture influenced by the region's 18th- and 19th-century traditions. As befits a château, rooms come in many shapes and sizes, and some are quite spacious. All have bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. Both the food and the service are exceptional at the château's restaurant. You can enjoy meals in the stately dining room, barbecue by the pool, and refreshments on the sunny terraces. Fixed-price lunches cost 16€ to 31€ ($21-$40), fixed-price dinners 35€ to 85€ ($46-$111).
