A stately 1917 home on a nice wooded lot just off Highland Park, south of downtown, this relaxed and comfortable place, popular with visiting professors and business travelers, is one of the best places to stay in town. The house has Victorian-style furnishings, but is understated and not fussy. Its biggest advantage is a countrylike atmosphere along with a location that provides travelers a peaceful sanctuary in the midst of the city. Breakfasts are hearty.
