Last rival for the best rooftop is the St. George Hotel, at river's edge close to Campo de' Fiori, with a 360 degree view of all of Rome's domes. Boutique hotel lovers will enjoy the Relais Palazzo Taverna, built into a 13th century fortress in Piazza Navona neighborhood, and Hotel Teatro di Pompeo atop an exposed archaeological site-- the very location where Julia Caesar took his final steps. Residenza Farnese and Hotel Due Torri are two quiet, charming hotels, although smaller in size.
