Yes, there are wonderful places to stay near Rome's Termini train station, it's just a matter of knowing where. The Radisson overlooks Termini with its futurist design and rooftop terrace, and is hands down Rome's favorite pool for train and people watching. For style without watching the wallet, the St. Regis Grand and Boscolo's Exedra are the dualing monarchs of Piazza della Repubblica, adjacent to Termini. Both rely on old school elegance, but whereas the St. Regis exudes tradition, the Exedra's design plays on classical decor and whim. Likewise, just down the hill, Boscolo's Dante-inspired Aleph is a modern heaven and hell, according to designer Adam Tihany. For a more affordable opulence, there is Villa Spalletti, La Griffe and Hotel Mascagni. If luxe isn't your style, but charm, quality and price are, The Bee Hive, Residenza Cellini and Daphne Inn are best to look at.
