- Cuisines: Seafood
NileGuide Expert tip:
Totally relaxed fish spot for those who don't want to be seen (but really do). Dress stylish and make sure to try the Crudo (platter of raw fish).
Description:
The "House of Fish" is one of Rome's finest seafood restaurants. The owners are justifiably proud of the freshness of the offerings, and the staff lays out the catch of the day in bins at the entrance for you to inspect what you're about to consume. After the selection is made, each offering is delectably prepared by a skilled staff, including superb sea bass, baby squid, freshly harvested clams, and fat prawns. The seafood-studded pastas are some of the best in town. We're especially fond of the gnocchi sautéed with shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and pecorino cheese. Also delicious is the homemade pasta, paccheri, served with calamari. Some fish dishes are baked whole in a salt crust to retain the juices. Lobster alla Catalana with tomatoes and onions is another specialty.
