Sant' Agostino

Description:

  • Sant'Agostino is located close to the Piazza Navona. Funded by the wealthy and nobles of the city, this white marble structure was the first Roman church to be built in the time of Renaissance. Apart from being a place of worship, the church is also significant for the beautiful paintings that adorn its walls. The painting of Madonna di Loreto by Caravaggio and those of Raphael and Sansovino can never be erased from one's memory. A moment of prayer and silence in the church and before the tombs of Saint Monica and of Fiammetta will surely push you further in the spiritual journey.
