Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial

Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial - Rome

  • Description:

    • Seventy seven acres of lush green greet you at the memorial in Nettuno. Built in honor of American Airforce and Navy soldiers, the site pays homage to the heroes who lost their lives on these foreign shores during the liberation of Sicily. The white crosses on the ground mark the unknown graves; the memorial consists of a museum, visitor's building, chapel, and gardens. The rest of the area is wooded with trees, including holly oaks and Italian cypress trees.
