    Al Settimo Gelo

    Description:

    Al Settimo Gelo is considered one of the best gelateria (ice cream shops) in rome, and it consistently wins awards for its amazing all natural, homemade ice cream.  The shop is tiny and somewhat hard to find, but worth the effort as the gelato is truly outstanding.   Staff is patient -- used to its international customers who come in search of visciole (sour cherry), iraniano (with rose-water, almonds and saffron), greco (with yogurt, honey and pine-nuts) and several varieties of chocolate including one with peperoncini (hot peppers). Closed August.
