Having rebuilt post the World war II destruction, Rotterdam is completely different in terms of architecture from say Amsterdam. The city prides on some amazing architecture, one example of which are the Cube Houses (kubus woningen)
These are cube shaped houses, conceived by the Dutch architect Piet Blom in 1984. A total of 38 houses, they were meant to represent a forest, with each house serving as a tree. One of the houses known as the Show Cube (Kijk kubus) is now open to visitors.
