- When the predecessor of this unique store was founded in San Francisco back in the 1970s, the word "comix" was code for "underground" or adult-themed comic books. Today, in addition to first edition comix, collectors will find vintage comics including decades-old DC classic editions of Superman, Batman and their superhero buddies. You can find 1940s Vargas pinups, other posters and coffee table fine art books. Collectors will find things they need to maintain their treasures such as plastic sleeves and file cabinets.
